Decorative elements in my studio

Creativity has always been a big part of my life, finding expression through my love of fashion, interiors and photography.

Nestled within my home studio, surrounded by the serenity of the garden, I finds solace and connection with my innermost self.

Through my art, I seek to evoke a sense of tranquility and mindfulness, inviting viewers to pause, connect and immerse themselves in the present moment. With each painting, I hope to inspire a renewed sense of wonder and appreciation for the world around us, reminding us that beauty is everywhere, if only we take the time to look”

Travel has always been a source of inspiration for me, infusing my work with elements of the exotic and decorative. I repeatedly return to my love of the East, in particular India, with its romantic mysticism, bold colours and ephemeral beauty.

In my paintings, the niche or altar is used as a symbol of divine creativity and connection. An invitation to be present to the beauty, truth and sacredness of life.

With harmonious colour palettes and an eye for detail, the tactile nature of painting becomes a meditative dance between pigment and canvas.

Exploring the genre’s of still life and botanical art, I express the deep love and reverence I have for nature.

A simple bowl of fruit becomes an offering.

Exotic birds rest on niches surrounded by hanging palms and flowers, inviting us to awaken to the profound depths of our being, by reconnecting with nature.

I grew up in a New Zealand/ Swiss household and have been lucky enough to live in both countries. Growing up I spent a lot of time with my Grandparents who were very influential in my life; sharing with me their love of the NZ bush, birdlife and walking. In particular, my grandmother nurtured my love of art and painting.

As I grew up I put my art aside and moved to Switzerland to begin a career in Hospitality Management and then later studies in Australia in Natural therapies, Ayurveda, Nutrition and bodywork.

A decade or so of studying and working in alternative health helped me to re-connect with my deeper self and I continue to explore and relax into a soul-centered way of living.

My work is an amalgamation of all of these varied experiences, filtered through motherhood and a profound desire to share the beauty I see in the world.

I live in a harbour side suburb of Sydney with my husband, two children, a Ragdoll cat and a Spitz/Pomeranian cross.
